Materials list for the Sophia Carry-all bag
For 44" wide light to mid-weight fabric:
* 1½ yards of fabric for the exterior, including handles and bias strips for covering the cotton cord
* 1⅝ yards of coordinating fabric for the lining
* 5 yards of 20" wide woven fusible interfacing
For 54" wide mid-weight fabric:
* 1½ yards of fabric for the exterior, including handles and bias strips for covering the cotton cord
* 1⅝ yards of coordinating fabric for the lining
* 2½ yards of 20" wide woven fusible interfacing
PLUS:
* ⅜ yard of 44" wide fusible fleece
* ⅛ yard of extra-heavy stabilizer
* 3 yards of ¼" cotton cording
* 1 sheet of 8 x 10" template plastic
* 22" coordinating purse zipper
* 1 large spool of coordinating all-purpose thread
Finished size for the Sophia Carry-all bag: 14" wide across the center x 10" tall x 4½" deep
Tools needed: scissors, iron and ironing board, straight pins, seam ripper, ruler and yardstick, chalk pencil/fabric marker, pencil, hand sewing needle, turning tool (such as a closed pair of scissors), zipper foot to fit your sewing machine, jeans/denim sharp point sewing machine needle size 100/16 or another heavyweight sewing machine needle size 16.
